Strepsils Medicated Throat Lozenges Orange contain amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, which have antimicrobial properties that help reduce the growth of germs in the throat.

They also soothe the throat by coating its lining, which reduces irritation and pain. Together, these give quick relief from throat irritation and minor throat infections.

They are used for pain or discomfort in the throat, a dry or scratchy throat, pain or difficulty swallowing, hoarseness and throat irritation. They also contain menthol, which gives a cooling feeling and helps soothe a dry throat.

Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours as needed; do not chew it or swallow it whole. Do not take more than 12 lozenges in 24 hours or more than one at a time, as overuse may cause mouth irritation or an upset stomach. They give temporary relief only and do not treat the cause of the infection.

They are suitable for children older than 6 years; do not give them to children who may have difficulty sucking lozenges, as there is a risk of choking. Avoid alcohol and smoking while using them.
